Actually Woody won 3 NC's. 3 more than Bo. If you count not only the AP's award but say the Football writers association & others tOSU claims 18 NC's. Of course most just count the AP and Football writers. If you go from 1930 forward (1930 is considered the start of organized play with conference placement etc.) tOSU has the best winning % of all time. Plus they didn't need to beat up the alumni, sisters of the poor & high school teams in 1900 like scUM did. When scUm was sactioning football, most schools (tOSU included) considered it a hobby sport. I was thinking that changed around 1920 for tOSU. MI has a great history, but it's just that. They haven't won a concensus NC since 1948. They only won half of one in 1997 because the needed to proof that the BCS starting in 98 was the right thing to do. Everyone knew NE was better. I mean in 94 PSU went 12-0 & got nothing! Everyone knows 94 PSU was twice the team 97 scUM was. MI is lucky to have tOSU & Woody to pound their butts for them since it seems MSU doesn't always get it done.
