I know this may sound funny but there is a slight knocking noise in the engine, is there the same noise on 700 EFI models?? I'm probably just being parinoid with the new machine. Is this normal?

I don't know what the name of the rims is, but if you look at all of the pic's there the ones with the little screws on the outside edge of the rims.....I hpoe that helps. All I do know is I have no regrets with this 800. I took my wife for a ride and she said it starts and runs like a car & she really likes it, I should note that she usually (my330mag) could care less about ATV's as long as the driveway is plowed, but she couldn't say enough about the 800.

I forgot to tell you guys about the ride............Typical Polaris- but the best yet. The only time it feels like a quad is at low speeds where the power & exaust just make such a throaty sound & the whole machine just rummbles. Ahh hell just sell the quad you have now and go buy an 800, the thing is great!!! LOL!!

Now I really can't wait for mine to come in. Those wheels look awesome.

As far as that noise you hear, that is normal for all 700's.

GE4x4,
Those wheels are exactly what this quad needed. They are the staggered set in the polaris book. I was all set to put these exact wheels on the oem tires as soon as it came in, nice $300+ bonus as I see it.
Did you put an order in and is there any word when it might be into your dealer?

I'm waiting for the black and red one, so they said that won't be until Dec. It's worth the wait. I was going to order those wheels, but then I was told they were stock on the 800. I didn't know for sure, so I didn't order them. Now I just need to find out what to order with the $400.

GE4X4,
I can't wait to see your comparison of the King Quad and the 800. It will help a lot of people decide between the two.

I plan on doing a full range of test between the two. Wet weight, 300' time and speed runs, 15 mile GNCC type loop, ebs test. If you think of any more let me know.

GE4x4 I would get the first 800 that came in if I were you. The decals are the exact same between the two colors and there are only 3 soild silver parts of plastic to exchange. Buy the 800 and order the red plastic parts for a 700 EFI. The side panels have no decals on them at all, and they both say EFI on the head light plastic. Just a thought.....

Thanks GE4X4,

I know everyone is looking for something different in a quad. For those people who like to get around fast over rough terrain I'm sure, with your experience in racing, that you will do the testing for those qualities.

I'm also in the group who would like a powerful quad that has EFI.

Other priorities for my uses and preferences are:
1. Seat softness.
2. Steering ease.
3. The ability to be sporty and nimble on an easy trail rather than feeling heavy and unresponsive.
4. Fender protection from mud.
5. Strong construction of the front end, as opposed to my outlander that has a bumper that is 100% aluminum and weak as peanut butter.

If you could report on these items it would be useful. The magazine tests and then uses a 5 star rating that I don't find useful. Everthing gets 4 or 5 stars and sometimes 3 stars. If you could use a 10 point scale where 10 is "awesome or as good as it could be", 5 is "ok or acceptable", and 1 is "not good at all", it would be very helpful for everyone. I'm sure that there are a lot of guys smoking out their ears trying to decide which to get.

Thanks in advance.
