An 8000 RPM tach is fine . A stock quad pulls only a little over 6000 RPM .

The violet spring is quite high for your machine , if you want that high of a stall use an EPI orange , it will get the shiftout down to where you want it . We normally would use polaris green or Dalton Black orange in a quad like yours .

As far as hooking that tach to a Polaris , I would contact the manufacturer or retailer of the product , I would only be guessing if I gave advise about that .
