Do you know what the difference is between the 'standard' and the 'aggressive' im wondering if i should just get the HPD for alot less and just get a helix. what you think ?

 

Exactly what bbs said. Same thing but with no helix. I would not go with EPI. No matter what your dealer says. If you get a clutch kit go with HPD, comet or heelclicker. HPd is the cheaper of the 3 but the heelclicker will give the best overall result for the 4 stroke. Or you can just keep it simple and go with the Polaris white or plain primary spring.

 

whats this comet or heelclicker stuff ? what spring/ setup do you guys recommend? 60% trails, 30% snow/mud 10% fast is pretty much how i ride. although, today i was in NH where everything is open, so i was gunning it pretty much the whole time and engine seem liked it was acting up, but thats a whole different story [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

My clutch started as the HPD aggressive kit, but I changed it a little. I have an HPD brown primary spring (engages around 2200 RPM), Stock 400 scrambler 55g weights (took out the 10-58's that came from HPD), and an HPD violet secondary spring set on 2-2 with one of HPD's helixs

 

What type of riding do you mostly do ? and do you experience that power a second after you hit the gas. if so, is it something that you had to get used to. Im worrying about the difference in that when it comes to tough techincal riding which i love to do when i get the chances.

I do trails. A mix of slow, steep, rocky, muddy, technical trails that snake their way through the woods, and some more faster, open trails. My clutch setup took a little getting use to. It is like a high stall converter on a car. It revs up then grabs. Makes wheelies a piece of cake. But does take a little getting use to on the slow stuff. A Polaris Grren or white primary spring have a slightly lower engagement

 

this 'grabbing' after it revs up , does no wear and tear or put any extra tension on anything at all ? Just doesnt seem right to me when something like that happens. It seems like when i used to drop the clutch in my buddys mustang, which is obviously not good. If you say its not a problem though, i belive ya !!

 

Hey BBS want o get rid of those 10-58s?Would like to try them with my low engagment spring.If these guyswant a mild engagment and great trail machine all they need to do is check out my sig and copy it.

 

It creates less belt slippage this way. Better for the belt.
