I am looking to buy an 05 predator but waiting for the troy lee to test ride I rode the stock one with a 13 tooth front sprocket but it still didnt have the bottom end torque that I am used to Currently a Raptor which never stays running but anyway is the new T.L.D easier to lift the front end or what will helpthe stocker get some torque?

You will get some torque with a pipe and maybe got up 2 teeth on the back sprocket.

The 1 that I rode was already down 1 tooth on the front thats equal to 3 on the rear. I am trying not to go too loud on this quad (for once) but the 1 I rode had great pull on top just seemed hard to loft the front end over obstacles without using the clutch.

I would gladly trade off alittle top end for some torque to loft that front end over sudden obstacles like puddles or small logs it just seems like it plows through them instead.

Thats weird, a preddy should have almost or if not better acceleration than the rappy. Just fix the rappy, what's wrong with it?

In mid range and on top it is good but it lacks that bottom punch since the front is heavy I just wat to know if you can change the power curve a little. To give it a little pop down low.

As far as my rappy evey time I ride it I have to work on it instead like the tranny went one-way starter bearing, the clutch etc. I can go on for ever. Wanna buy it? Ill give ya a good deal.

kinda sounds like my predator, the past couple rides i have had to tare it down, the first time i thought my one way bearing went out, but it was a bolt on the flywheel that had backed out and sherd off, then last ride i blew 4th gear out. It will cost me a little to get it back going, i am thinking about p/cing the frame since the motor will be out....
if the predator you don't like, don't buy, buy something you like, not what other people tell you to get. my gearing it 13/18 with 22in tires, and it has ALL the torque in the world!!

Well - If it helps at all I can tell you this - I test rode a TLD '05 Predator and it really didnt fell THAT much different to the regular '05. I just bought an '04 TLD Predator and my wife really liked it so I went to test the 05's and decided to just get her the standard 05' rather than the TLD. The weight over the front end is still an issue I think but I just put some Fox Air Shox on the front of mine and I can definately feel that it lightened up a bit by doing that.

We are making both of these Predators "Project ATV's" and adding tons of aftermarket stuff to them so we can do reviews etc. I can say that the raised stem makes a nice difference on the '05 and the seat is nicer too. I have some bolt on parts coming to improve performance so we'll see if that helps lift the front end a little more.
