I believe the TLD is a better trail machine. With the close ratio gear box you are faster coming out of the corners, and have more control over the midrange speeds. I spoke to a polaris rep over at the 50th party in Minneapolis, and he told me he didn't think many dealers would even order the standard Predator once the TLD came out. After riding the TLD I would have to agree with him.

THE TLD IS ALOT BETTER FOR THE TRAILS THEN THE STANDARD AND THE SHOCKS AND THE TRANNY ARE THE REASON. I GOT TO RIP THROUGH THE TRAILS THIS WEEKEND AND IT IS GREAT. THE RAPTOR I RODE WITH WAS IN 1ST AND 2ND WHILE I WAS IN 2ND AND 3RD MOST OF THE TIME.

ATV Action did a shoot out, and found the STD to be the better quad. The Std beat the TLD in a drag by a quad length time after time. The only thing the TLD had on the standard was the front shocks, thats it. They found the Std tranny to be better and faster.
