i know hes 250lbs, and when he jumps he has bottomed out the suspension a couple times. he leaves the compression on 8. should he maybe tighten the spring down and loosen the compression.

At 250 he really needs to get a new rear spring put on at least. Not sure how good he is but the best way to go about it is send the entire shock in and get it redone. Get the correct spring put on it and then have it valved accordingly. We send our stuff to AfterShocks in CA, he does AWESOME work and is very reasonable. If you want his details let me know!

Yes, I've heard of it before. Tell your friend/or his mechanic to take a look at the line as someone compresses the rear end for them. The guys that have had this problem found that the chain was coming into contact with the braided line, and rubbing it till it wore through. When they remount the rezzie they need to take the time to make sure that nothing is going to rub it. Good luck, hope this helps.

I bet its the rear chain wearing the brake line too............while I'm not up to 250 pounds, I'm pretty close and I've never had a problem with my rear spring bottoming that hard............definately set the spring preload for about 2.5-3" of sag when the rider is on the machine. That stiff a compress setting on 8 must make it a bucking ride over woops and such!

I had the same problem, I'm about 220 and ride with the rear rezzie set on 3 or 4 (to save my spine in the woops) The line rubs on the small slap gaurd wheel..Not sure what the real name is. Simple fix would be a zip tie. Lucky for me Polaris took care of the fix for me.

By the way Hi, this is my first post....I do most of my posting on Glamisdunes.com and Predatorowners.com
