We participated in an ATV pull in Princeton, MN a few weeks ago. The Polaris' dominated all day except for the light class (850# w/ rider) only because the Sportsmans are too heavy, which in that class an Arctic Cat won and it was an automatic 500. I took a 1st in the 950 class and a 3rd in the 1100 class. In the "I'm Confused" topic I did not see a Grizzly or any Yamaha for that matter in the top 10 all day! When it comes to pulling, 4 wheel drive will beat 3 wheel drive any day of the week! I have a 2001 H.O. Sp500
Just curious if anyone else has heard about it or if anyone else was there?

I was there. I saw the H.O. lay the Smack down! The Xplorer 400 also had a full pull too bad his son blew a chain. Did you see the Honda Ranchers pull? How pathetic was that? I was laughing my a$$ of when they where beaten by King Quads. I also saw two Rancher front ends blow up so much for new Honda tuffness. Since I did mention the Honda break downs I now have to say that 3 Polaris Xplorers broke rear chains at the event. Well then again a chain only costs 50 dollars to fix.

Puller did you run stock clutching?

Yes, I pulled the H.O. I also had 26" Mud Runners on it. At the time it only had 33 miles on it. How's that for break in time? It now has 90 miles on it and I love it!

Yes I ran the stock clutching, it seemed to work well except for the heavy class. There I could have used more RPM. I think the high altitude weights would have helped but I'm not sure. I've tried checking at Hot Seat and EPI but no one knows for sure what will work better then stock yet. We actually have 2 H.O's, my wifes yellow H.O. is 3 lengths in a 100 yards quicker than mine. They both top out at 65 so far. If anyone has any clutching tips or suggestions, let me know.

Would like to get in touch with the sled owner, I'm going to build a new sled the winter. I would like to chat about some ideas or improvements on the new one. Thanks for any help. Go Polaris!!! I ride red 'till the 22nd of this month.
