700 EFI Front Gearcase Broke
I was using four wheel drive on my 700efi and got the left front tire stuck so bad it locked up, then I heard a snap. All the other tires were spinning but the left front. I freed it up then it made a sqealing sound and started moving again. Do you think a tooth broke off? It seems to be working right now, but i don't what to do any more damage. Any suggestions. thanks...

bad thing to do,,,,if you are in bad mud where it is causing suction on the tires, its best to dig it out first and then get the tires moving....this can happen on anything, I did it on my 3/4 ton GMC pickup when I had it, got the front tires stuck in the mud and got on the gas, I broke the ring and pinion gear teeth right off and a piece wedged between the ring gear and front pumpkin cover and punched a hole right through it....
same will happen on ATVs, even worse, they aren't as strong and something will break....the idea is not to let the tires stop spinning and getting to the point that the tires gets suction on it....
not sure what broke, you'll have to either have the dealer analyze or pull it apart yourself...

Were you in high range when this happened? I am getting the feeling that the squeeling sound you heard was the belt burning up. I would think that you would have only heard that if you were in high? Since the front and left side front share the same differential (lock up clutch) and since the right side is still turning, I would say you might have damage the cv joint / shaft somehow. If you are mechanically inclined, start inspecting and taking things apart.
