for the record the 03 my kid rides is bone stock except for the end cap and a kn filter. Bought it for a little over 2k wrecked, put an A arm, tierod assembly, and seat latch on it straightend and painted everything else. Had it 10 months when I bought the 02 baja it was a dealer demo bike still had the stock carb pipe, end cap, cdi, even the air filter. Took it home swapped plasticand went to the local sand pit and raced them. the 03 beat the baja by 4 lengths in 300 feet. So I modded the end cap and had it dyno tuned it went from 38 to 42 hp. Just about even with my 03. Next came a KN , CDI, ported intake, and a TM-45 Back to the dyno came back with 50HP. After that its all gearing and tires lots of trial and error. Far from stock not hardly. Lot of time in set up? You bet ! Thats what makes the difference. So in mods my 03 cost 53 dollars 48 for the KN and 5 to make the end cap. The 02 has a little over 1300 in mods includeing over 500 at the dyno. they are both set up very good for sand. I still have a hard time beating the kid on pavement[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

all i knwo is you and your kid are fast .....i also found out my timing was still off!!!! hopfully i'll get her running right again by next season...damn bigbore i'm going back to stock bore!!!!

 

I don't no if its better, but I do know its a lot easier on your thumb........

With a little tuning I think I could get the TRX450R carb to work as well as the TM45...

 

Omaha predator- I didnt know you were big bore, and your bike is anything but slow. Remember over $500 of what Ive spent on mine was dyno costs. Well worth it. Might hit river valley tomorrow afternoon Maybe youll come down with the scrammy anyway. John

i've been big bore since fall jambo (sept) and for some reason i keep jumping time!!!!! i'm fed up with this thing!!! might have bent a valve this time....i was out of time at genoa, and the last time i seen you down at the river..this sucks i'm seriously thinking of going back to stock bore!!!! hopefully i can make it down there tomorrow....maybe the scrammy will put up a fight for ya!!! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] atleast i know it's timing is on the money!!!! doug thinks my cam vhain tensioner is weak!!!! he wants my quad...there goes another paycheck, if ya know what i mean!!!

 

Just being a big bore shouldn't make it jump time. Doug has got to be right on that one. The chain runs are in properly, right?
