Default Winch mounting on '05 sportsman 500

Anyone mounted a winch on an 05 yet? Im looking at doing it. I know that the 05 is prewired for a winch and have heard that there is a built in mount in the ATV. True? Im putting in a superwinch from Cabela's. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have one on my '05 700 EFI that I installed. If you buy the winch from Cabela's, you will still have to buy the mount from Polaris....the unit mounts in the area behind the plastic that says 'Polaris' high on the front end, but it still requires a mount to mount up to the holes. You can see the pictures on the purepolaris website.

also, the machine is prewired for the winch, but that doesn't mean much....there is a place to mount the contact, you will see it in the front right fender, look inside above the tire, you'll see a brass colored mount....the only prewiring is a power and ground cable running in the machine....the rest still has to be connected....

here is a pictures of the front of my machine with the winch installed...oh ya, you need to cut out the plastic in the front....such fun, takes as long as the rest of it if you want to do it right....i left a slightly larger slot on top to put my fingers in to remove it if I need to freespool the winch, i put a piece of pipe installation on the gap to cover dirt from going in there:

Winch/frontend..
