UPDATE....do not install HPD valve springs in your machine!!!!! i repeat DO NOT!!! talked to doug and he is pulling mine out and putting in stock springs...they are junk according to him!!

This is true, but the piston manufacturer should have allowed for the piston to valve clearance. I am not saying you are wrong, it is always a good thing to check everything.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Thumb of rule is to have at least .080 thousands between the valve and piston. This is after putting some clay on top of the piston then rotating the crank shaft two times. Then check the clearance by cutting away half of the clay around the valve relief area of the piston. The distance measured between the top of the clay and the top of the piston is your clearance.

You can never have too much clerance. If you lets say .050 thousands then you know you have to fly cut the valve relief area .030 thousands to have the proper clearance.
