Will plastic for the Explorer fit the old 350?
#1
I am rebuilding my 350L after eight years of abuse. It has held up so well I could not ever think of getting rid of it. I have got the engine work done and am now re-doing the brakes and suspension. I would like some new plastic however. Maybe a different color than the red and gray. The Explorer plastic looks identical to the 350L. Does anyone know if it will fit. I would also like a new seat cover. Any ideas on who makes one or who might have them?

I'm fairly certain the frame is the same. However, the explorer has the new style plastic. So I'm not sure if it'll fit. You may want to make note of where your screws are and compare to that of an explorer. I am getting ready to change colors on my Scrambler. Luckily, all the Scrambler plastics are basically the same. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck.

Yes, I do believe the Xplorer 250 plastic will fit your 350L. It is the same stuff. But, just to be on the safe side, do what AKScramler says. Go to the dealer and look at the screw positions and see if they are the same as on your 350. Again, I am almost positive it will work.
I believe the Trail Boss platic will also fit if you like the red/white color.
Either that or call your dealer. If they have a decent mechanic, they will be able to tell you right on the phone.

Looks to me like it should fit, if you are talking about the 250 Xplorer. If you would want the old style Sportsman green it should go right on. I think the sharpest color they had was the maroon and grey, they only had that one year. Seat covers from Polaris are $34-$40 but you have to have a shop staple them on for you if you dont't have the tool.

Thanks everyone for the info.
I will try some and see. Even if it is just close I think I could make it work. It would look nice with the maroon plastic. Bill how much does the plastic run from Polaris or are there aftermarket companies that make it as well. Also what color are the seat covers?

I'd suggest ordering right from your Polaris dealer. I shopped around for plastic and Polaris was about the same price. However, Polaris said I don't have to pay shipping if I order from the dealer. The front cabs are about $68. I've seen rear cabs from $68 up to $79(after market) The nose clip will be $15-$20. Just be sure to clarify that it's a 2 stroke so you don't get a 4 stroke nose clip. (no hole for the 2 stroke reservoir)

Just remembered the 250 has no access for the radiator so thats out.
Only morroon colors left are the seat cover and the 2 side panels. The fuel tank cover subs to grey.
Side covers 6.67 @
headlite cover 16.32
Tank cover 35.96
rear fender 99.75
front fender 129.75
rad. access door 9.75
seat cover 36.94
Don't know where AKScrambler got his prices, better check him out.
I used an after market fender on a used Honda once and it didn't fit worth a darn.
Give ya the same deal on parts 10% off.
Sometime prices vary depending on colors so let me know when you decide.
