I have a cable lock by Kryptoite, I hear they are better than a chain because they are harder to cut especially with the built in lock. Kryptonite

Man I wish you get the punks , I got an Idea for securiy but if you forget about it could be bad for ya Electrify the bars and the door of the shed. it works on fences to keep a jack *** in the pasture why not to keep one out of your property!!!!!!!!!! We used to rig up a capacitor on a car ignition coil to keep people from snooping under the hood of our drag cars maybe you could do the same for the machines. although I prefer 220 0r 480 on the doors and windows of your shed.

I have mine bolted to the floor like someone said. I have seen these cable locks at Advanced Auto that have the sirens. They are a very cheap looking cable, but the siren is what they would be good for. I plan too get two of them, in addition to the cable i have now. That way, once they cut one, the alarm will start, then they would still have to cut another before they could wheel it away.

I was also thinking of making a bracket to bolt to the floor that goes over the axle, then putting locks through the bolts. They would have to cut the locks, unbolt the bracket, cut the big cable, then cut the two cables with the sirens, all while the spot light is on from the motion detector.

That is for when i am in town, when i leave town I take it to my office and put it up, I know its safe there.

Thanks for the info guys. That Kryptonite looks good - think I'll get one and attach it to an eye bolted to the floor for extra piece of mind. That alarm lock looks interesting for hunting trips or while it's on the trailer. I never worried about it before when I was out in the woods, but I'm paranoid now.

I don't know of anything worse than a damn thief.

I didn't look at your kriptonite picture, but most of those locks like that can be undone by a bic pen........there was a video of that on here a while ago.......so don't get that.

Boy....we must be lucky where I live, I don't even lock up our quads, they are in a shed about 200yrds away from the house.........I guess we better start to think of that.........

be careful with just taking the keys.. it takes me about 30 sec. to bye pass the key system... not very hard at all......

get yourself a big lock.. or a big chain and just run it through the back tire or so it won't allow the wheel to turn..

CmdrBen-"Just found thier bicycle and tool bag in the bushes down the road - trying to decide..."

i would turn that into the Police. attempted grand theft is a serios offence. they might pull a print, run it, and find the guy. then you can see him face-to-face in court. not a good idea to shoot the guy, YOU WILL be the one ending-up in jail for murder and you won't see your wife and children for 15-to-life! you can't protect your wife and kids if you're behind bars!

if i caught a thief, i'd do something to him he'd remember for life. he'd still be alive, but i'm damn sure he wouldn't return.

on a happy note, i'm damn glad you got your ATVs back! that rarely happens. cook that dog a BIG steak, give him a bath, let him sit on the couch tonight! LOL!

I will check the specks on the alarm lock today and let you know the details.....and another security system I use is in photo #2...I have three of them. all over 100 pounds...Two of them will only bark at you ..the third one will deal out the punishment..she is the enforcer.

After the Police check out the bike, claim it as your property and then hook up a flag pole to the goose neck, put it in the yard as a weather vane.
Problem is, the bikes probably stolen also so some kids out a 2 wheeler.
HOPE THEY CATCH EM....Your dogs dont need to eat rotten meat and you dont need the shooting thing, unless you throw them in your house 1st.
