He said that he could fix it but then again he hasn't seen it yet. I sure hope so. He said that he's done quite a few of these. They aluminum is a lot thinnner on the front mounts than the back. Maybe he can weld up some extra aluminum on the transfer tunnel then grind away what he doesn't need.??

Sorry about your misfortune as well Greg. I've been where you are before but have always come back to the 400.

I know this is out in left field here... but- When gregs bike quit, his spark wire came out of the boot. Then a coulpe days later when we were trying to get it running we discovered that the the front cylinder studs had snapped. I wonder if there is any way possible that- (here goes) if there were a weak point in your engine- say a cracked stud, or a hairline crack in the case, could loosing the ignition cause it to come apart?
I know it sounds stupid, but thats a strange coincidence. That Shawns motor lost the wire also.

It sure does seem fishy huh. I had a lot of problems afterwards when they pop off. Lots of not running right problems. But after countless hours of dickering it always came back and I never really knew what I did to fix it. I've had problems off and on with the boot coming off. I'v replaced them at least 3 times cause they lose their snugness when snapping on.
