Hi Everyone,

I am currently looking for a new sport quad. I will be riding mostly trails, with some track (for fun, no racing). I am 6'2", 240lbs, have average riding ability. I am intested to know from those who have ridden the above machines why you prefer your ride over the others. I will post this in the other forums as well. Thanks in advance.

 

Pick up the dirt wheels Mag. and they had a shoot out. (between the Pred. and the Raptor) Go take them for a ride and see what you like the best. I did not need to, I have had Polaris quads in the past..and think they are one of the best if not the best. The Predator is a Power House. And they have the best suspension out of the sport quads. And the TLD has better suspension then the Std. So I would say hands down...the Predator would be the best...but I also have one so....not fair for me to say. Just test ride them and see for your self....good luck.

 

You look big by what you tell us, so I would go with the raptor because the preddy seems to small for me. But the preddy will dominate in the track because of the better suspension. Wait, go with the predator, no wait, damn this is hard, I was in your shoes once and decided to go with the rapppy. You got other choices though like the DS 650. The 700 is just to big and not really a sport quad, but it's still fun. I you're going to have your kids driving it(assuming you have kids right?), go with the 700, because it's rally easy to drive because of the auto tranny. It's to you whether you like to ride blue or orange?

normal dirt tho, goddam the preds are quick. like a two stroke. if you don't keep your front end down, they're gone.

 

I'm 6'6 and weigh 250. I feel better on the pred then the raptor. I've got about 35 hours of seat time on a raptor. It's just more tippy then the pred, and my height seems to make it worse. as far as ergos. Everything is close in terms of my knee clearance and everything else

Rappy has a lot of torque and is a great trial quad........the pred has a lot of upper end power(can be fixed by a simple gear change).....both are great, I don't suggest the 700 over either of these two quads........

 

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I would be very happy with any one of them. There doesn't seem to be any inherent problems with these machines either, the quality seems to get better all the time. All have great aftermarket support (of course some better than others). Even the dealers in this area are great, so I can't rule one out because their service sucks...

You can't really go wrong with any of these quads. It all depends on what you want to do with it. I ride with 2 preddys and a Raptor. The Preddy shines on the track and high speed corners. The raptor and the KFX are both great trail quads. Being a KFX owner, I'm partial to the Kawi, but will admit that it's too heavy if your planning on doing alot of MX riding. The stock suspension just can't handle it. The KFX dominates the drag races "when modded" and also outshines the others when the trails get really rough because of the ground clearance. If I were to do it all over again, I would definately get the KFX.

 

How much more ground clearance are we talking about here?
