I just read the DirtWheels article about the shootout with the predator and the Rappy. I appreciate the fact that they chose the predator as the winner in the end, but it's soooo obvious that they have it out for the pred. Every time they praised the pred up for being better than the rappy, they go out of their way to knock it back down. They name it the winner of the "totally stock" shootout, and then have to go and say "BUT" for $500 more, the rappy would be better. GET OVER IT DW. The biggest complaint is that the TLD Pred gearing is all wrong...... So take the regular Preddy, put rezzies on it, and other tires.... you'll still be way under the cost of a rappy and $500. Now what's your excuse DW.

I'm not trying to bash DW, it's just that they finally recognize the pred as being a contender, but they just can't compliment it and leave it at that. It's pretty pathetic when they name the pred as the winner and still tick off polaris fans. It's like they're still in second grade.

I can't agree more. The $500 dollar statement is just a retarded thing to add to a stock shoot out. For $500 I bet I could find a used 900cc CBR motor and make any quad faster. And the whole thing about how the Pred handles everything better, but they like the Raptor suspension better(paraphrasing) is just back assward. I think they are both worthy quads, it's just that DW has to slap Polaris every chance it gets. The big bore sport ute shoot out worked much the same. It's not that I really care who won, but all the bias woven in was sickening.

 

You really just have to ride an 05 TLD to understand it...you'll consider refinancing your house to get one..it crossed my mind...but instead I used my saving account...drained it before Christmas...but got what I wanted..instead of another crappy tie.

 

Yeah, since when have they "changed" the sports atv shootout to include $500 in add-on's. They never do that, but now that the preddy wins, they feel they have to knock it down. DW just lost a LOT of very loyal customers with this issue, and I know who one of them is.

I've always accepted when they said that the preddy took 3rd or 4th, but to say it's the best and still talk like it lost, that's CHILDISH. I didn't realize DW had third graders working for them.

 

Ive been ridin since 85' Ive been dissapointed in the mags since-85! . Take some photos tell you useless info you can get in the machines brochure. Claim the winner based on ad revenue. How a bout this-
1- Take all machines through a 2' deep mudhole wide open.-Give us distance and winner
2-take a bumpy straight away with a small jump at the end and a radar gun.-drive each machine at the same speeds and then at the fastest speed the machine feels confident.-Give us speed and results.
3- Get a drag like the tractor pulls-pull the same weight then the max of each machine-Give us results.
4-Go on a Long ride for Ch#$%t sake with each- Let us know who ran out of gas first and who went the farthest!Total range under the same conditions!
5-load the racks with their max stated weight.-drive down same bumpy trail.-Who rode the most level-How scratched up were the racks afer a beating?
6-Do a deep water test-Give us depth! who sank,who sputtered? What depth was each machine capeable of?
7-Sport bikes around a track with five different racers-track time averages=Winner
8-Porta-tree 1/4 mile drags. top speed radar(all machines)
9 Decible levels at low and high speed, Dyno HP results=Hp to weight ratio
10-AFTER 20+YRS AS A MAG, a radar gun, porta tree, dyno,pull weights, a bumpy trail,mud hole and a full tank of gas should be within thir reach by now!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a good deal to me. I bought a 2 year subscription 3 years ago. I hate not getting the mags anymore, but to be biased towards the big companies with the big money is just plain bull and I'm not going to support them. I like ATV action and even ATV sport.
