What do you guys think of the Yamaha Grizzly 660?

Would any of you own one and do you think they are a nice machine?

I have always been a polaris guy but I have been offered a really good deal on a brand new yamaha Grizzly 660 and its pretty hard to pass up.

I just wanted to know what my fellow Polaris friends think.

How do they fair up with the other big bore quads?

I'm looking to buy the wife a ute next year....so yea I would buy one if the price was really, really good. But I think I will go with the sportsman 600, or maybe the 700. I try to stay with Polaris, that way I know what i'm getting, and that they will stand behind the warranty.

I have heard Polaris is the best company in standing by their warranty. I have a friend with a suzuki and he says they are horrible at fixing stuff. He has to fight with them all the time to fix stuff. I guess the best thing to do, is learn to fix stuff yourself. :-)

Thanks for the info.
I have never owned a yamaha so I am not sure how well they stand behind their warranty.

Sucks that they are all only 6 months.

I had one Yamaha, but couldn't tell you about the warranty as it always ran well.

I have never personally owned a Grizzly but my brother-in-law bought a 660 last spring and he has had no problems with it and he really likes it. We went to Utah in June and he had no problems with the difference in elevations. The highest speed he hit was 62 mph with some throttle left. He had a lot of storage under the seat as well. Seems like a nice quad, just not sure of warranty and service. Just my .02.

I have never heard any bad things about Yamaha's Grizzly and that is one of the reasons I want one.
I know it doesnt have EFI but that doesnt matter to me.

I would rather have a reliable machine.

I have heard alot of problems with the 700 EFI Polaris.

I thought they had worked out most of the problems.....

There are very few problems with the 700 EFI Polaris....last year they had some pinched cables and fuel line, that was it....I have had zero problems with the '05 machine...

I like the Grizzly....Yamaha did a good job on it, if you can get a good deal, grab one....it doesn't have EFI, which I need for my altitude riding here....but I still like the grizzly...

Well here is a bad thing you can add to the grizzly list. The mounts for the plastics WILL break with normal use. Yamaha will replace the plactics under the waranty. But only if it breaks in certin places. If your lucky enough to break them in the right spot your in the clear. BUT how ever if your not and 2 in 5 people are not, you will have a HUGE labor bill, because its a 6-7 hour job by a guy that really knows what he is doing. The quad has to be completely rewired, just to replace a few cracked plastic mounts.
