Default Sportsman regulator problems

I have a 96 Sportsman 400 4x4 and it is not charging the battery. I have found the regulator on the front rack and it has a red wire coming out which is broken. I beleive this is a fusible link. It runs alongside a black wire towards the rear (battery or terminal board?). Is this a fusible link and can I just use a fused connector. Does it run to the board or where? I also was wanting to know what amp it would be. I don't want to burn anything up. This black box has the yellow, yellow/red, etc also coming out, which I believe go to the stator. any help would be great.

Replace the connector and you will be fine. It is not a fusible link but just a corroded connector. I have seen many of those like that.
