Unbiased polaris 800 power?
Hello SHOTGUN. You have a valid point about crank HP numbers. Especially with a power curve. It is a good way to compare engines. The clutching and wheels can be played with to make the mechanicals more effective. Although CVTs are not as bad as most people think. From what I have read, they are between 90 and 95% efficient, which is as good as a geared transmission. Maybe more of a problem is the rotating inertia of the clutches and belt can be quite high. This may tend to slow the acceleration.

The 800 is by far the most powerful atv in production. after riding the BF. ther is no way i would pick it over the 800. I love the motor on the BF but that is it. There was no question after riding all three machines the 800 is more stable, like a rock, 800 is built 10x tougher than the imports, beefier parts thru out. more weight, but you would never know it from its power. great stock tires, stainless steel brake lines, proven motor. Go USA.

I got the Dyno results today, these results are from the quad bone stock form
it has a peak HP 34.58 HP at the rear wheels
max torque = 56.48
top speed on the dyno was recorded at 71 MPH
Actual real world top speeds are normaly about 4-6 mph slower than dyno testing indicates
No surprises here same results as vegasdude had with his.

Hello all,
I finally got to ride my buddys polaris 800 the other day and I was impressed with how comfortable it rides. I ride a brute and most of us know the suspension could be better. I also got a chance to race him with my BF. Everytime we raced I would come out ahead, but the 800 is definently no slouch. It seems like a much more refined machine then my BF, and more stable at high speeds. With all that said, he still sees alot of my tail lights in drag races. It's all in good fun.............
