Trying to get a shop manual off of ebay. St Joe is an inexpensive place (cheap) the parks to me are nice but not worth traveling to. I am comparing a recent visit to Estes Park CO. A trip to Johnsons
Shut Inn in se missouri. So maybe I am not that big on STJ parks but for a local place to hang it is ok. I use to live in Fla (surf rat) so this is killing me here. I find it boring hence the atvs along with the 1200 custom concrete and dirt surfer now.

One small thing you could have overlooked. Make sure the airbox snorkle is open. I found a wasp nest built in mine one time and it would hardly run. Small things like that can deal you alot of pain and $'s.

I had it out and found a cracked nozzle leading to the carb. Did a temp fix to see if that was it. No such luck. I am clean all the way to the cylinder. I am afraid it is the rings. Strange that both of my bikes went at one time. Wonder if running in cold weather slowed down the oil enough to get the rings hot enough to give up on me although nothing major broke. What a pain. Nice weather and no bikes. Just the 1200 harley and the boys cant ride with me on that. Life is full of challenges. They will run again!

FTWFLH,
Well there is hope I got the 300 running thanks for the help and advice. It was a combination of a broken nozzle affecting air draw, a plug wire that was not getting a solid connection and dirt in the bowl. A new fuel and air filter and she runs like new. Wow what a good feeling to have accomplished something. So now I am into the heart of the 400 and pulled the tank and carb. Carb was filthy. Lots of dirts and grit on cylinder wall. May go ahead with the piston and rings on this one. Rings look worn from the exhaust port and of course being liquid cooled it is a bigger mess. Wiseco piston and rings right? '

Well one down and one to go and only 50 bucks so far in filters of various types.

Yeeeee haaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww one on the road.
