Default Where is that supposed to go???

2004 Sportsman 400.

Small tube coming off the bottom of the carb. It's only about 1/8" dia. max. It's connected to the bottom of the carb and runs for about 1". It then has a disc-like 'device' of some sort that is about 1/2" to 3/4" dia. and looks like a miniature frisbee except it has the tubing connetors, then the tube continues down to an area behind the engine where it just hangs and does not connect to anything.

Is this just a carb bowl drain and it's supposed to be like this???........or is this free hanging open ended tube supposed to be connected to something???

Bob

Yep.......it's clear tubing but it's connected right to the very bottom/underneath/bowl of the carb. That's why I'm thinking it's just a drain line and yeh I'm also thinking the "frisbee" is a check valve but I don't know for sure.

Thanks, Bob

Hey Bing........GO PATS!!!

Hey Bing........GO PATS!!!

go pats is right!!!

the overflow would be located on the bottom of the bowl,,,,,,,sounds right

there should be a screw right near where that tube hooks to the bowl,,,,,,if you unscrew it,,,,fuel should run out that tube (bowl drain screw)

The "frisbee" is a one way valve you can test it by blowing through the tubing both ways.

So I guess it's OK to presume that this is simply a carb bowl drain and that the end of the tube SHOULD be dangling free open ended???
