Default scrambler steering problem

The bad part samich is that if your boots were torn and it has already started pulling to one side, then the damage to the cv joint on that side has probably already been done. You may have to replace one of them. Make sure you service the side that wasn't pulling immediately.

There is one other thing to consider. The front hubs have round steel plates that stick to electromagnets when the 4x4 switch is turned on. This causes enough drag to roll 6 pins out on the ramps of a six sided gizmo and lock the front wheels. Sounds complicated but is actually pretty simple and clever when you see and understand it. Anyway, these steel plates can themselves become magnetized, just like a screwdriver does when you rub it on a magnet. When the plate itself becomes magnetic, you can't get it out of 4x4, and one side can be affected without the other. The plates are cheap (about $5 each) and easy to change.

its your CV joint, ill tell you right now its gone. i already blew mine, thnx to a torn boot, and since i was so used to my kodiak (CV joints seemed immune to mud), i never payed attention. i had the same problem, yanks to one side on and off, replaced the shaft and everything (warranty covered it) and it cured it.

yeah, that's the bad part samich. You have to replace the shaft and all. That is why that part is so expensive! Especially if it ISN"T under warrenty as mine was. As gopher said, plan on replacing it because it is toast!
