Trailblazer.... Hard starting, then it runs great ????
#1
Had my wifes 250 out for some riding with family last weekend. After a few rides it didn't want to start as usuall, it took about 1 minute of cranking to get it to start running and even then I had to baby the throttle alittle with the starter turning to get it to run. Yestaday I replaced the plug, air filter and fuel filter, it didn't make a difference.

You need to change the needle position. Sounds like it is rinning either too rich or too lean at start up. Maybe too rich because it only happens after it has been riden for a while. It does not need as much fuel to start when warm. Go up on the clip to lean it out or down to richen it up. Just move it 1 position at a time till it is right. Do it when it is hot.

2manytoys, Thanks for the tip. Would this needle position need to be change for any other perticular reason. the reason I ask is because the quad would start just fine previous to last weekends ride, and then started showing this start problem, which now also happens after it's been sitting overnight, not just when it's hot. Does the owner manual show how to adjust the clip. Rich

It should. It is real easy though. Whay year is it? Is it stock? Did the temperature change? How long have you owned it and did you check the airfilter. Did you drive in any mud? Maybe a vent line is clogged. Lots of questions but many things can make this happen.

2manytoys, It's a 2001. Stock and 2nd owner(bought it slightly used (1yr old & 100 miles) from my wifes co worker). Changed the air filter(it was pretty dirty) and have driven it in all temps and never had this problem. I did see the two sizes of clear hoses running above the carb going into something black and hollow, are these the vent tubes. . Rich
