Been waiting for dirt wheels to do a shoot out against these two and it didn't show up in the feb issue. Well any ways what do you think is the better of the two quads in,
trails?
speed?
work?
hills?
mud?
and all around?

I drove a BF 650 last weekend and I would have to say that thing is all power. It beat my friends sp700. This thing pulls wheelies like the best sport quads. You cant slam the throttle or it will come up on you with no effort at all. I hear the BF 750 is even better but I also hear the Sp 800 is the beast of all beasts. The only thing that I did not like is the straight axle rear. WHY DONT they put IFS on the BF. It would be an awsome quad if they did. Would love to see the BF750 and the SP800 go at it. 2 thumbs up for Kawasaki.

Wow thats a tuffy. I think the BF is better off road due to its true 4x4 and not an AWD. But speed it can go either way.

When the AWD kicks in on the Polaris it IS TRUE 4wd. ALL 4 tires spin. And you dont have to stop and pull a lever for it to do it.

Woah!!! The Polaris has true 4x4. It locks all 4 wheels. What more could you ask for? Polaris has been known for thier true 4x4 system. It is most definately NOT AWD. You cant turn the 4x4 on and drive on dry pavement.

Uh. First of all its an AWD quad second of all the AWD doesnt engage untill the tires slip. With the brute force you can just lock them whenever and thats alot better.

Your first statement about it not engaging until the tires slip is true. However your statement about locking them in being better isn't necessarily the case. I have found it to have more traction then my old suzuki since my polaris uses ALL 4 wheels and the suzuki was more of a 3 wheel drive. I didn't even know that my Polaris wasnt a fully engaged system until I read about it. I couldn't really tell the difference.

Not entirely true. Yes, the Polaris is considered "AWD". Yes, the front wheels dont engage until the rears slip when the AWD switch is on. But, once they are engaged, ALL 4 TIRES SPIN. That is TRUE 4WD (AWD, whatever you want to call it). ALL 4 TIRES ARE DRIVING IT!. The big advantage of this system over the BF's 4wd system is that it can be engaged at ANY speed, you dotn have to pull a lever to lock the front end, and it steers like a 2wd machine. The downside is rear wheel only EBS. The only downside that i can see.
