Thanks everyone for the help on narrowing down the problem on our 98 500 Scrammy!!!!! Its the cam. Does anyone know where to find an aftermarket cam, or should I go back with one from polaris? Im not really looking to spice it up any, I just want it to be dependable. Got any suggestions? Thanks.

 

WEB makes a cam for it. It is the same spec as the Aaen cam but cheaper. You will want to check, but I believe that both of those cams dont have a compression release which will make pull starting it harder

In my conversation with Rick Ritter, in which I was looking for more hourse power , Rick made it quite clear that beyond bolt on mods there is little to be done with the scramber 500 motors & what can be done will create a hand grenade that could go off at anytime from day 1 . He reccomended getting a 400 fixer upper & building that up .
