Default Need advise for tire(s) for front of Scrammy

I either pinched or took a rock in the sidwall of my stock tires on my 04 Scrambler. I'm looking for some opinions. Should I replace it with a another, replace both with a different brand and/or size? What sizes and/or brands do you like?

it depends on your wants and needs

If the tires are fairly new you might just want to replace the one and wait for a new set

Otherwise check out Mudlites,,,,or Bearclaws.

Did it slice the sidewall or cause an impact bulge or what?

If it is just a puncture you could probably put a tube in it.

I am very happy with my 489s, I will probably replace mine when they wear out with 489xt

Probably should have offered they are Carlyle AT489, 23x7-10. I'm pretty sure I know when it happened, I hitting a rock with that tire pretty hard cruising down a trail. At first, I figured it poked the side. But now I think maybe it pinched the tire against the rim as there are two holes in it next to each other, but that is only a guess. No bulging, and in fact it will hold air for about 10-15 mintues.

The trails around here have a lot of rocks like that that poke out of the ground, and I was wondering if maybe a larger size tire might fare better and may leave the wheel less exposed. Just fishing for opinions. If getting another matching tire is a good idea, I can pursue that.

Fill it up with air and submerze it in a tub of water. You will be able to find the leaks from the air bubbles. If it isnt bad, they jus tput some slime in the tires.

I know the air is coming out of the holes on side, and I would be surprised if slime would fix it. A tube might work.

From what you are describing a tube would be a good option. certaainly if the tire is like new.
