Default Reserve not working

Well i went riding out in the snow today and while i was riding it ran out of gas. So i switched it to reserve and tried to start it and it wouldnt run. So i looked in the gas tank and saw that it was completely empty. Its not like i was riding all day on reserve i had the petcock on the on position. So if anyone has any idea on whats wrong let me know. Thanks

Default Reserve not working

If the tank was empty then you probably were in the res position all the time. Because it has reserve does not mean it has a seperate tank. The fuel tank has a 2 level bottom. It is impossable for the tank to be empty unless you had it on res the whole time. The reserve switch on the Trailblazer is confusing. I have ran my tank out a few times before I figured It was opposite than I thought.

Look inside the tank from the fill cap and the tube sticking up from the bottom of the tank (rearward fitting) should be much longer than the one towards the front of the machine. use a trouble light or flashlight under the tank to aid in viewing.

If this is not the case Pull (unscrew) the fuel fittings out and switch them around, they may have been installed in the wrong place from the factory or the previous owner.

Default Reserve not working

I had the same thing happen to me last time I went snow riding around the neighborhood.

I almost ran out of battery trying to start it on reserve. (scrammy)

I finally decided to check the ****,,,,and sure enough,,,,,it hadnt clicked all the way into reserve. In otherwords,,,to the eye,,,it looked to be in the right postion,,,,,but it hadnt actually turned all the way to reserve (on the tank side of the mechanism).

be sure it is engaged all the way
