Coming from the factory real rich on the carb has been common, at least as far as what my dealer has told me. Mine so far is a little cold blooded, but then again we don't have real cold temps here. Ours does backfire on decelleartion. I believe it's due to being a little rich. And I have heard of one other at my local dealer that had the ETC problem that awdowden refered to. So far still pleased with it, but would like to get more time on it.

 

Had the Phoenix out at the coast again this weekend. It is still getting stronger the more it breaks in. We are more and more pleased with the purchase. I was able to take it over some steep twisty trails at the beach and it toted me around well. I was even able to get a couple little wheelies out of it. Took it over a couple small jumps, caught some small air and landed great. It is still very heavy, but very stable. The thing with the shifting is still there, but it's not any worse. It looks to be just the way it needs to be shifted. I htink I need to raise the stall on the clutches. It seems to get to high ratio too quick. The parts/salesman from my local dealer was there with his DS. He has not been a big Phoenix supporter since he test rode one at the 50th aniversary. He rode it around and too, was a little impressed. We both thought the same thing. It actually reminds us of a little Vforce more than anything. Just a side note, it has a very good sound for being a little 196cc quad.

Being that it is an overhead valve motor I think there is quite the potential. The only problem I see is the demand. With the early popularity of the Phoenix, I am hopefull that the aftermarket recieves it well. It's gonna take a few determined individuals to figure out the potential there and exploit it. Then hopefully the floodgates of performance goodies will open.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Yep the wifey is a keeper. The Phoenix does well with the paddles. I wouldn't mind trying out different kinds for it at some point. And that is the MSO bumper from Motosport. I just put it on a couple of days before. Had a DG that was similar, but liked this one better.

 

I did figure out how to wheelie the Phoenix finally. I could keep it up for five or so seconds at a time. It is definitly a timing thing.

 

I figured out that If i let it roll backwards for a second, then give it some gas in drive, I can lift the front for a few seconds. How did you do it?
