Pretty good comments sans bashing. Everyone has some good points. With the average American having less than $10,000 dollars in a savings account and 20+% of adults being functionally illiterate, money for high dollar toys is not abundant. This bike will hit some families just right, who might not be able to afford a high-priced quad. This also shows how speculation and rumor can be a waste of time and come back to haunt you. All the time of effort of "I bet" and "I heard" turned out to be like two sports teams claiming victory before the game is even played and when it is over, the team that was wrong does not want to be on SportsCenter to explain how they could have been so wrong .
Oh well, if it is not available, build what you want. Or, wait and speculate (not expectorate).

The only area the Polaris is weak in the ATV sales is in the "true" sports quad. If Polaris came out with a 400EX or Raptor like quad then Polaris would truely have something for everyone. Polaris already makes more ATV models than any other manufacturer.

Snowshark, you must not have ridden a 2 wheel drive Scrambler, either 400 or 500, or you would know that some of the "fake" sport quads are a whole lot faster than some of the "real" sport quads like the 300EX, Blatser and Mojave

 

Well i dont really like the 250ex but it is a good move i wish honda would have came out with the 650ex. Its not like i would be buying either one of these machines. I am scavaging for enough for a used 400ex right now. There isnt any reason 4 honda to make the 650 though . The 400 is dominating 350 to 500cc 4 stroke stock class and im not sure about the rest of the classes though. It would be sweet to have a 650ex

 

The only ones who will be laughing will be Blaster and TrailBlazer 2 strokers who will be flying pass this bike probably for less money to.This bike shares the Recons 22mm carb and displacement, not the sportiest heritage for sure with no high tec motor like on a Mojave.I think it looks like the Honda 89 250X (Not a winner) came back from the grave.
All I want to know is how much more money this 250ex will be compared to the others?

20 differnt models to choose from and no high proformance machines,yet. And still #2 in sales by 3% of overall. Just imagine where honda would be if Polaris quads where KNOWN for good reliability. Maybe 10-15% behind. And i bet they would have a different kinds of models trying despretley to keep up with Polaris. I say that within the next three years Polaris takes over honda for good. The only thing missing in a GOOD sport quad and a GREAT high proformance quad.
