I was just getting my SP 500 ready for this weekend. And I was just wondering how often you guys grease all of the grease zerks. When I bought it the dealer said to grease it evey ride that seemed like a little overkill. What do you guys think???

Grease after every ride like your dealer suggested. Pump enough grease so as to displace all the water/mud contaminated grease.
This may not be what you wanted to here but this is what I do.

I guess everybody has an opinion on this I grease mine every 250 to 300 miles, I think every ride would do more harm than good seems it would keep unnessary pressure on the seals...you do know you are only suppose to put 3 shots of grease in the drive line in each zerk don't you its in your book...so mine has 1200 miles on it with 3 grease jobs so what do you think...if you were driveing in deep water a lot and I don't mean crossing I think I would do it more regular though lets see what the other guys say...

I don't think pressure from grease is a problem. I grease my bike every few rides. I think doing it every ride would do much more GOOD than harm. It's better to have grease in there than water. Alot of it does depend on what type of riding you are doing.

It depends on the amount of mud/water rides you have. For everyday trail riding without much mud/water,every other month is fine.

If you are an avid mudder and like water crossings, than you'd want to grease more often. You have to make that determanation.

Dont forget, grease has waterproofing properties to,so greasing after every ride is senseless and time consuming.====Bill

Just to qualify my earlier post, my riding rarely precludes water and or mud. Invariably when riding so called dry trails we always seem to run into a mud hole somewhere. Of course we could go around it, but why?
So each time I ride the one thing I do after cleaning is grease.

Every 50 hours or when washed by pressure washer. That is plenty enoungh. Read your owners manual.
