Default choke doesnt work - predator

Shortly after I installed the trailtech handle bar and clamp I realized my choke no longer works. It has move ment but in or out there is no change in idle at all. I also noticed that it was idling a little higher then normal. anyone now how to fix this. Its hard to start it in the cold with no choke.

I don't have a predator, but I imagine its purely mechanical like most chokes. After you installion, you must have put some slack in the system. You should be able to see it fairly easy on the predator. The cables are fairly adjustable. I would look at the choke cable from the handlebar all the way down to the carb. There should be some adjustment, normally at the upper end. Doesn't sound right that if you put some slack into the system, that you would increase your idle. I'm not sure what your mod is, but sounds like it moved the choke mount/cable....

I figured it out. Turns out that the choke plunger had a LOT of dirt and corrosion right where the cable attaches to the to it and around the threads of the collar. So it wouldnt allow the plunger to move in and out of the carb. But there was just enough slack in the cable to make it seem like it worked fine. Because you could pull it in and out no prob. It took a little work to pull the plunger out but a little more cleaning and it will be good as new.
