Well I think the quad is totalled so what should I do?
I like the Polaris SP 500 but I also like the King Quad 700 EFI.
I've been reading a lot of reviews about the KQ and people seem to like it (minus the reverse problem)
My wife likes the nice ride qualitys about the Sportsman 500 but we have never riden on a King Quad.
We mostly use the sportsman for a smooth ride cruising thru the desert with gear/lunch kid.
The sealed box on the sportsman is a + but, on a KQ I would have to buy bag/box system for it.
I've been reeding reviews for the last 2 days and would like everyones opinion.

I rode the kq. I like the power, but ever thing else i did not like, Its not as stable or built as tough as the polaris. The sp has stainless steel brake lines Suzuki doesnt. SP has a alot better tires. Made in the USA. SP has better racks, more cargo space, better looking, Thats my opinion.

 

I like more sportsman alot ... but i also have a great polaris dealer in my area ... the local Suzuki dealer can kiss my %&!$#$% a$$, they will never get any of my business - they were the rudest people to my wife i've ever seen!

I think both machines are good ... and the dealer is the most important part of that par off.

 

I totally agree with the above!
For your type of riding the sportsman is the most versitile and the smoothest rideing.
Plus to match the sportsman in cargo capasity and wheels/tires you would have to spend alot extra.

I would go for the 700 EFI!

I was seriously considering getting one. I spent some time on one (king quad). I thought the power was a bit too much for what I want. See my sig file, I understand power.

They are very different machines. The king quad might be a bit more sporty.

If you want heavy duty and awesome storage get the KQ. Depends on your needs and desires.

The front storage holds much more than it looks like it will.

 

what are the KQ's going for price wise? I don't think I would switch brands if I totalled my EFI, thats just me though.

The KQ practically has no storage.

 

I own both so maybe my opinion matters. Both are great machines. The KQ is better for sport and the Polaris 700 is better for utility. I am comparing them as stock. If you added tires and better undercarraige protection I think the KQ would be better for both. They each cost me the same.

 

you would know, IYO.
I still dont think the KQ could compair in utility. What about the storage and the fact that its rated UNDER 1000lbs for towing?
