I found a good cv joint with boot on ebay for only $100.00, I dont know where you got the $300 figure from....so if I need the whole cv joint replaced I guess Im only going to end up paying $100.00 plus labor if I cant figure it out.......thats all I need right?

wouldnt that make him pull to the left if the right spins faster than the left?
my guess is the opposite, the left randomly engages and goes faster and since the left wheel is spinning faster it would go right

First remove the plug from the hub and check the magnet on it for filings, hopefully it is clean or just has very fine wear stuck to it that you can't feel between your fingers.
Or even a stretched retention spring. Check the oil in both hubs and change it if its at all dark. If that don't cure it pull the rf hub apart and check the Hilliard rollers, roller retention spring and the cam inside the rollers. Look for rust, flat spots pitting or other nasty looking problems. Everything has to be in good shape shape.
Also don't stretch the spring to get the rollers out slid the cam out of the inside then carefully remove the rollers
Finally it could be a magnetized armature plate, @ $9 from leaving the AWD on a lot over several years.
All this is assuming that there is no issue with the cv joints on the rh side.
Here is a link to a manual on the older machines.
Polaris_Atv_1985-1995 Service_Manual_Repair__All_Models 8507630-.pdf 85 to 1995, but outboard Hilliard hubs only had a early and late version (to the best of my knowledge) and both are in this manual
