Default Oil Injection Block Off Question

I'm wanting to block off the oil injection on a 88 TrailBoss 250. My question is do I really need the block off plate. Could I just drain both the oil and gas tanks. Then I would just put the premix in the gas tank and leave the oil tank empty. Would this hurt anything or has anyone done this? And also I was thinking I could just plug the oil line up and wouldn't need a plate. I know the plates are only like $16-$20, but if you don't really need it, I don't see paying the money. I'm doing it for reliability reasons and not weight saving. If anyone has any info let me know.
Thanks

Default Oil Injection Block Off Question

by just emptiing the tank you can cause 2 things, first would br an air leak which is bad for 2 stks. second is the pump can sieze and cause more problems from being ran dry. spend the 20 bucks and save yourself the agravation later. also, you will need a single line throttle, some have gotten away with tieing the end up, but it can hang up and hold the throttle open.
