Default Sagging suspension on 04.5 SP700EFI

Hi all,
I have an 04.5 SP700EFI with a Glacier plow system installed. My problem is that with or without the plow frame on, my suspension dips probably four inches since new. Is this normal? It's very tough to make any high speed runs with the plow off now, the bike is very wobbly.

Is there any manufacturers out there with new stiffer shocks and springs for this application, and if so, is it a big deal to install them?

Thanks!

You could make you some spring spacers like I did to stiffen up the suspension. Look at my pics and they are not to hard to install. Mr. silverbullet2005 has some for sale you might want to contact him.

I can't say much due to recent moderator issues but check out the classifieds parts section.

The spring spacers really are the cat's meow. I just put on 1.5" spacers on last week and I went for a 50 mile torture test today. They made the ride so nice. I was really loaded down and had my father on the back riding double. We never had a nicer ride. Not to mention that with the Glacier Plow on, it doesn't budge an inch. Definitely check out Silverbullets pictures for some good close ups.

Great. Thanks for the reply's. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person with this problem.

Are the spacers pretty easy to install? I'm a compute geek, not a mechanic.....

Thanks

Raistlin, i know you are requesting help up front, but what i did to reduce bike wobble was to click-up the rear shocks TWO positions. made the difference for me.

good luck.

I can't use the PM system about this issue either, I think they are keeping an eye on me. my contact info is in classifieds ad though in the atvparts section.

Raistlin, If you give me your email address I will contact you.

I am not sure if I have a problem in the rear. I only weigh 130 lbs, and the frustrating thing is, that when I take the plow off, and stab the throttle, the front end comes up quite a bit, and as soon as I release the throttle, the front end drops like a stone, and the bars start to shake!

I also wonder if I may have blown out the front shocks, as I am an aggressive rider, and have gotten plenty of air on this bike. (My last to quads were a 2000 400EX, and a 2001 Raptor)

I'll get my contact info to silver bullet.

Thanks again, you guys rock!

You can either get the spring spacers, or you can buy 125/150 springs for the front, I think the stock springs are rated 75/110....
