Default 2 stroke oil

I was wondering if any of you guys have experimented with running marine oil in your quads. I have a 1998 Scrambler 400 and am getting tired of spending $6 a pint for MC1 when I could go to walmart and buy a quart of Pennzoil synthetic marine oil for $3. I have an oil injection block off kit on my quad too, what do you guys think, stay with the MC1 or go with Pennzoil?

I ran Phillips Injex in my Scrambler and Sportsman. I think it ran $9 or $10 a gallon. I had no problems. I also ran it in my snowmobiles for years. It's TCW-3 oil.

I switched to synthetic recently. Blue Marble at $30/Gallon. Quite pricey, but I have a buddy that sells it and I'm hoping it will reduce the smoke and plug fouling that I get at higher altitudes. I ride in altitudes that can vary several thousand feet in a day.

A friend of mine runs what ever in his 400's. Like 30WT or 10W30 or 20W50 WT. Been doing it for 5 years on three quads, and never a problem. Runs it through the oil injection Too! The funny thing is his quads seem to run better than mine, and he never fowls plugs. This guy is a Semi-Pro Mud Racer. Builds trucks and big engines.

I use Polaris Synthetic

I run synthetics in my snowmachines, and have use the specified brand names, and paid top dollar, in my boys Polaris 90 Ive been running Polaris synthetic. But then it doesnt use a whole lot either. But I also know Polaris, Artic Cat, and Ski Doo arent in the oil business, Why not buy form an oil company? like Mobil, Castrol, Penn

Well I bought some Pennzoil Premium Outboard & Multi-Purpose 2-Cycle Oil, says it will work with liquid cooled and air cooled 2 strokes we'll see how well it works out. I kinda hate switching from the trusty MC1 but I'm tired of the extra cost, I guess if she blows its time for a big bore!!
