Default New grips for Trailblazer (How to remove old ones?)

I have a stupid question that I need to ask. I purchased a new set of handlebar grips for my Trailblazer off ebay to change out the ones that were currently on mine. My question is what is the best way to take the old ones off and what do you use to put the new ones on? Is there a special type of glue that you use to have them stick to the handlebars? Is there an easy way to take off the old ones? They seem to be glued on tight. I have tried turning them and just haven't been able to get them off very easy. Any help would be appreciated.

A boxknife ought to do the trick. As for the new grips, wrap a little double sided tape around each bar, place a little charcoal starter fluid inside each new grip, shake it up, and slide it on. The fluid will dissipate after the grip is on and sets awhile. Very similar to re-gripping a set of golf clubs. Hope this helps.

Ride Safe!

Another ol' trick i use for puttin them back on is spray paint, spray the inside of the grip with spray paint, slip em' on and let em set. the paint works like a glue when it dries.

a really awesome trick to get the old ones off is compressed air. use a blow attachement and an air hose. cut a small slit in the end of the grip and blow air into it. and the just pop right off.

Hey XMARINE. I was with the 10th Marines Artillery at Camp Lejune, NC. What about you?

I use the air trick to slip them on and off. I've tried many tricks for getting grips to stick, but using actual grip glue has worked out the best. Renthal and Scott sell grip glues. Scott has small single use tubes. I use one tube per side. Renthal has bigger tubes, just be sure to use a generous amount and let them dry well.
