don't know how to help you but hoped you cpould provide me some help.
I put a sunpro tach on my scrambler 400 following the instructions found on this site, and I have a signal at idle but as soon as I give it gas the tach will drop to zero. any idea what this is?

not sure how ya hook your tack but we put one to ground and the yellow to the yellow/red on the wire harness and it would go to 2grand and zero its self out unless you had the lights on then we put the yellow on the yellow on the harness and it worked fine

Exhaust Gas Technologies has a nifty memory tach. It's a bit spendy, but it has a memory function which allows you to concentrate on driving the quad, then reading the tach when you get back from the test run.
