Neighbor has $15K in his '89 Honda 250R.
At Glamis last year while climbing Oldsmobile hill, he couldn't make it for the first 4 days. After installing a smaller carb on his 250, he finally made it. Once we got it dialed in he was able to stay in front of me, after he red light the start, at the top he was 4 quads lengths ahead of me.
Oh! did I forget it mention, I ridding a '03 400 TrailBlazer, that at time was all stock, bone stock!
The only time he can outrun me is on pavement at top end only.

So, he bitches all the time about my Polaris. Now I'm thinking of pulling the engine and installing the Briggs and Straton so its a even race.

Pennyless has the vidio to prove the race up Oldsmobile Hill.

Neighbors 250 has .080 over, 14.1 comp. 17cc cool head. Electrofussion cylinder, FTZ race ported, FTZ Fatty pipe, 39mm flat slide carb. Mallory ignition system. He runs 110 octane fuel.

i think you've got some serious research to do before you go spitting out times and stuff like that. especially the 37mph in reverse. i dont care what quad you got, that's damn near impossible. and im not a polaris fan or a honda fan, but i know if this 250r has "15K" invested in it, there's no way a stock polaris anything would be that close in a race. i know my raptor is faster than a trailblazer 400, but i also know at the same time that there's no way someone with 15k in a 250r would have a slower wheeler than mine, too. if someone invests that much money in a quad, the have some idea what they're doing. my quad does 73.4 on a dirt road completely stock and that's on GPS, so you know that's the truth. i raced a predator on that same dirt road and we were about dead even, he may have actually had a little more on me just because my tires are worn down and his still have the nipples on em. so you're saying that your stock trailblazer 400 is just as fast as a predator? i think not.

I disagree, just because someone throws 15k at a machine to make it go fast, dosent mean anything, if he has the wrong shop to do the work, or dosent know how to make it all work to get the power get to the ground.
Hanycap... if you want to hang with or beat your friends 250r give rick ritter, or HPD a call and put the machine on a serious diet.
And it wont cost you 15k

you can have all the power in the world or money spent,it wouln't worth if the guy didn't done his homework and fine tuned the things,,the more
engines mods, the more prone to jetting and temp changes.

I watched it happen. I believe the R was having carb problems. But I still fully believe.....
It's 95 % rider.....
and 5 % bike.....Text

The 37mph in reverse is my word!(I looked at speedo as we crested the top). But the run is on vidio tape. Also my 650P hit 78mph on speedo at Glamis coming down the big bowl. Its always run 76mph(speedo) on pavement and the 400 Polaris hit 75mph on pavement in front of wifes car going to parade in town.(She gets a little mad for riding that fast), Like the day I raced the "Bubba Bike" against the neighbors 250R with his Boy riding it. The R runs good here in MO, but it wasn't a race, it was a spanking for his 250R against the "Bubba Bike". I just played with the R from start to finish, when I turned around to look, here he would come, finally........!......Pennyless was there.

Pennyless! The 250R wasn't having carb problems that day! He could wheelie going over the top! Remember when it was having carb problems it couldn't make it 1/2 way up Olds hill. With the new carb he was the first one up china wall the day before we left.

Neighbor Phil put a LRD pipe on his 250R. Took off the FATTY RACE pipe. The quad rocks now! its hard to stay on the thing in any gear. It just wants to see the sky all the time. After 5 years on this one, I think he got it right.
