Default which carb for SP 700

im going to use a modified 800 header, and modify it for true strait pipe dual exhuast, a hotcam, a 800 snorkle, heel clicker clutch kit, and a quad works preformance kit. not all im wondering is which carb to use to use?? can i use the edelbrock predator 500 carb from AAEN for a 700?? or a 43MM sportsman/magnum carb from AAEN, or do i have to use the 40MM carb?? ill be using high octane fuel, and might rubo charge it in the end. also, are there any aftermarket pistons available for it?? i only want to have to tkae it apart once.

thanks alot, cory

I use the 40mm from the 500ho on my 700 has been doing good so far. Your gas mileage is going to go down some which you probablt figured that.

thanks alot sportsman, so since the 500 carb would fit on yours, im assuming the edelbrock for the predator will fit?? i want to shove some serious fuel in here, im going to be adding a turbo soon hopefully.

I also have a 500 scambler carb on my 700 and am pleased with the performance

with the stock engine and 800 pipe the standard 155 main jet was a little too small , got a 162.5 in it and lifted the needle 1 notch to fatten up the mid range a bit ,......... the pilot jet seems real close as is

I was going to put a mikuni flat slide from Aaen but changed my mind because of the CV's design has the ability carburate better across a wider RPM band

Now , if the head was ported , and it was cammed for more top end power , I'd probibly go with the mikuni 40mm TMX or better yet a pumper from Edelbrock or Mikuni , but for a completly stock engine with a few bolt on's stay with the CV design , just go bigger, the 40mm from the scambler fits on with little modification

With my 500ho carb I run a 180 main jet with the needle clip on the bottom notch and stock pilot. I also have a dial a jet in.

I have never used the 42mm or the 40mm from AAEN so I don't know how they would perform. There are about 3 or 4 people on the fourm with bigger carbs on there 700. The most commen one used is the 40mm form a 500HO. There are 3 modifications you have to do to put the HO carb on. If you would like to have the directions let me know and I will pm them to you.

thanks alot sportsman, i think i will jsut go with the 42MM from AAEN, and since its no specified for the 700, those instructions would be great. now my last question for the time being, so you know what offset for the maxxis 5 spoke 4X4 wheels i need to fit my 4 wheeler. also, can i get 27" mudzillas on it, without rubbing, or hurting my performance??

thanks, cory
