Default Removing Cover Over Radiator

I recently had to get at the top of my radiator on my SP500. In struggling with the cover, I broke off one of the tabs on the cover - now the $(@*$& thing rattles !! I'll probably break down and buy a new one, but is there anything that you can do to make those plastic covers come off easier without breaking ????

Any ideas or thoughts ???

I don't know about how to take one off easier, but I would try to use some apoxy to put the tab back on before I'd shell out $$$ on new plastic. Its just going to be under the rack anyway and won't be seen.

Good Luck

I took out the small screws the go into the pegs, drilled a bigger hole and screwed #10 x 1" panhead screws in there. That way the pegs have a solid shaft in the middle. Maybe your peg could be repaired this way. I have had mine off 100's of times. The rubber grommets do seem to loosen up after a while. I have experienced taking one off that had been on forever and I see how they could break easily. Maybe try a little vaseline on them?
