Breather Hose Filter Question?
#1
OK... so I just cleaned out the airbox and washed the prefilter again . While reading the manual it says to check Breather Hose Filter, so I am about to take it off and check it but I notice it is pointing up to the Airbox. In the manual its states to make sure the arrow points in the direction of the engine , but it is pointing toward the Airbox .Now this hose comes from the engine [ Crank area , low down ] and runs up to the airbox , and if it is supposed to be pointing towards the engine would not that mean that it would pointing down to the bottom . This is the first time I have had it off and it obviosly came from the factory this way , so I put it back on the way it was . Which way does it point for you guys ?

it should point towards the engine
it wont hurt to have it backwards,,,,,just wont filter as well
dont turn it around though,,,,replace it with a new one and put the new one on in the right direction

I'm not sure if this applies to the 400 but the twins (600/700) had an update that eliminated that filter and puts a slit in the hose to allow built up pressure to release in case of condensation freezing in the hose.
