clutch kits

What spring did you use & how much did it help. Did it affect drivablilty at all. I am looking for something to give me a few more top mph, but not that would make normal driving & trail riding difficult. Thanks

OK Bill you sold me I will try and purchase one next week. I will talk with RR but the green one you have may be the ticket.
I ride with a friend that has a 99 SC 500 (stock) who put a clutch kit in and he felt it performed worse (don`t know which brand). He changed the spring at their request and was still not satisfied . He returned it and got a full refund.
This is why I have been a little leary about getting one. But after reading about different kits and set ups on this forum I think I`m ready to try something. Plus the price is right. Thanks for the info.

hi cappy
When people talk about changing their primary spring. Most generally they change to a heavier spring tension.Basically what it does is the heavier the spring weight the more torque it takes to compress the spring to engage the belt.So what happens is when you have a stiffer spring it will engage at a little higher Rpm where there is more torque being made..It works on the same principal as putting a Higher stall convertor in a drag car.. I hope this help
Thx
