I have a harbor frieght #2000 winch, (the 49.00 one). Just got a winch mount from Ebay. It is setup opposite from the winch, any suggestions???

 

All the cheaper winches are set up opposite. All you have to do is unwind the cable, undo the hex screw to release the cable and wind it up the other way. Then it will fit on the mount correct. You can look at my pics to see what it will look like.

 

the mounting plate that i have is set up exactly opposite of yours. what did you do about the the cable guide that keeps some tension on the cable that is mounted on the backside of the drum?

 

You can reverse that too. Although that cable guide is a pian in the a$$. I need to take it off.

 

did you re-drill the winch base for the cable guide?
