Tach on my Sportsmen just quit

Default Tach on my Sportsmen just quit

Hi all was rideing today and my tach always worked never has failed but today it just quit won't do anything just stays on 0. The trip meter and hours and odometer and evrything eles works on my speedometer but tach just went K put. Anyone had this happen? checked around for something unpluged but did'nt find anything so if anyone can give me an idea or what todo for it let me know. Thanks for everyones time to.

Default Tach on my Sportsmen just quit

There should be a splice (via bullet connector) coming off one of the 3 wires connected to the voltage regulator. This is where the speedo gets the tach input from. Make sure this wire is still connected. You can also check the continuity between this splice and the speedo connector. I'm not sure what pin it is in the speedo connector, but it will be the only yellow/red wire in the connector.

Thanks alot for the info will probably be this weekend befor I have time to check that out. I did put a new battery in it the day befor my tach quit so I could have pulled something apart and did'nt notice it but agin thanks.
