time for a new belt?
#1
ok, i went out riding today, and i rode the **** out of my 800, i pull it in the garage, and my leg rubs up against the PVT cover, felt pretty warm, so i put my hand on it, that cover had to be atleast 120+ degrees. ive heard problems on here about belts snappin on the 800's cuz of heat.
i got 170 miles on mine, time to go order a new belt just in case?

never hurt to have a back up, ive replaced my belt once but tahts because of wear..your PVT cover should get warm but idk if 120 degrees is normal, i would invest in an extra just in case

The belt housing is going to get hot. The clutches generate a ton of heat. Almost to hot to keep your hand on it. I would get an extra belt just for the heck of it but Im sure you dont need a belt yet. Not for a while at least.
