Get the new updated design from your Polaris dealer. They are a direct bolt-on replacement and are much better quality than the originals your '99 came with. I paid about $19.00 each for the new ones.

Another option for you is to go to a bearing supplier and ask for Heim joints. You will need to buy 1/2" to match your tie-rod (I believe some people have been able to find 1/2" thread X 3/8" bolt hole). The bolt in the steering arm is 3/8" so you will need a sleeve to adapt it to the 1/2" hole. Another option is to drill out the steering arm to 1/2" (Not recommended). To maintain clearance when the suspension goes through its travel a small washer will need to installed between the ball of the Heim joint and the steering arm.

Also if you are a DIY kind of guy you may to look at upgrading your steering to the "easy steer" option. If you need more info let us know.

The new design Polaris tie rods are "Heim" joints. Also the bolt hole in the steering arm is 10mm, 3/8" bolts are a little loose in it. No "sleeves" or other modifications are necessary with the Polaris part.
