EFI fuel pumps
Anybody w/ EFI have any prob's with the fuel pump yet?!I washed my bike last night and when I put it away it was leaking coolant,so I pulled it back out, popped off the front cover, turned out to be the rad cap. While I had the cover off, I rinsed some mud away from on top of the struts with the bike running and went to back it in the garage again and it quit, wouldn't start at all.Turn the ignition on-no fuel pump!
This morning the pump works again!!??I'm wondering if water got into something?Even still it sees water out on runs.I just went through this 3 months ago when the pump quit and it got a new tank/pump
it started just like this, would work, quit, leave it overnight the pump worked again until finally it left my daughter and I on the side of the trail!!!! @#^&$*g POLARIS
Build date: March 18/04
ANY IDEAS!

EFI fuel pumps
My 04 700efi's fuel pump went out after only 11 miles and three days. the day I brought it home it died once, the second day it quit on me twice and on the third day my wife and I were riding back in the woods and it died on me and wouldn't restart. I had to have my wife ride her EFI back to the house and grab a tow strap to pull me back to the house. the whole thing was a pain in the butt but it did get fixed and has been fine since so I guess it's all good now.

From every polaris that I've worked on, it seems that the elsctrical systems are not sealed very well at all, If I were you id make some sort of cover for the fuse box to keep as much water out of there as possible. I have had to cut out many connectors on my freinds sprotsman 500, they are of poor quality and do not seal well at all, great place for corrosion to start and ruin a connection. Some I have soldered and heat shrunk, places where you need a connector, I've used a GM Bosch style connector (locks together and has the triple rib rubber seal). Another good thing to do with any ATV is to take apart each connector and apply dielectric grease. This will help seal out water, keeping water out in the first place is the most important step to not being left stranded by bad wiring!!!
