Default Mudlits size for stock Spostman 700...

Hey folks just wonering what size tires i could get away wint on my Sportsmans 700 without having to lift it of worry about tires rubbing. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I was considering the Mudlits as they seem to be a popular choice. But i dont think ill be adding any wheels with that. The stock wheels lok pretty good so i dont see any need to change them. UNLESS models like the ITP aluminum ones have a big difference in weight savings. Let me know, Vince...Thanks

FineLinePimp, i was in your shoes this time about a month ago. My '04 SP 700 was completely stock. I went with 27' ITP 589 M/S tires. No lift needed, the fit perfect, they are EXCELLENT in the mud. And they ride so smooth. I did not purchase wheels, as you said, and i agree, i like the stock rims. Well Good luck.

well first off no offense JJonJon but if you look at the tierod on your atv I would probably bet your tires are either very very close to the tierod or are rubbing on the tierod any you may not know it. Most people have to use wheel spacers if adding larger tires to stock wheels to get the rubber away from the tierod. second thing is that your 27's may not be rubbing while just riding straight or turning but if you hit a bump or whoop I bet your getting alot of rubbing on the wheel flares. am I right on any of it?

FineLinePimpin - People have different suggestions and comments so here is mine, I have the 27" Mudlites on my rig and had to add 2" strut spring spacers so that the tires wouldn't rub on the wheel flares and I still get some rubbing if I land real hard off a jump. I have the my tires mounted on the ITP type 6 wheels mainly for looks but also with the aftermarket wheels you don't need wheel spacers like you would with the stock rims. you can click on the "my photos" link below to see pics of my wheels/tires and spacers. you can also do a search under keyword "mudlite" and find alot of good info about tire sizing and having to add strut spacers, wheels spacers and/or a high lifter lift kit.

I remember talking to you Silver when i was in a fix trying to fit these tires on my SP 700. But they went on just fine, I did space them just a weeny little bit to get it off the tierod, so its working just fine for now, and u can barely tell i put spacers on my quad. But you are right, when i hit a jump farely hard, it rubs. when i turn, its ok. But good luck FineLine.
